If it is washed in hard folds, the color can rub off at the crease lines, causing permanent light streaks. To avoid this: finish the cut edges before washing (zigzag or overlock), turn the fabric and sewn items inside out, do not overload the drum, wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle using liquid detergent, and use a low spin speed (maximum 400 to 600 rpm). Remove from the machine immediately after washing, shake out, pull into shape, and air dry.
