If it is folded tightly during washing, the color can rub off along the creases, resulting in permanent light streaks. To prevent this: finish raw edges before washing (zigzag or overlock), turn the fabric and sewn items inside out, do not overload the drum, wash at 30 degrees on a delicate or gentle cycle using liquid detergent, and use a low spin speed (maximum 400 to 600 RPM). Remove from the machine immediately after washing, shake out, pull into shape, and air dry.
